Research Scientist – Chemistry
Fusion Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a clinical stage radiopharmaceutical company developing Targeted Alpha-Particle Therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Fusion is seeking outstanding applicants for a Scientist (Chemistry) to support new initiatives in the area of immuno-oncology where it relates to radiopharmaceutical development.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the research and development of bifunctional metal chelates and novel linker scaffolds to enhance the properties of radiolabeled proteins/antibodies
- Develop and conduct multistep chemical synthesis
- Interpret analytical data to elucidate the structure of small molecules
- Conceive and deliver new intellectual property initiatives
- Effectively communicate scientific findings
- Assist in maintaining chemistry laboratory
Education and Experience:
- PhD in organic/ inorganic chemistry with 0-2 years of experience in pharmaceutical development or BSc/MSc with 5- 10 years of experience synthesizing compounds
- Demonstrable independent research accomplishments
- Evidence of strong time management and prioritization skills
- Strong synthetic skills in organic/inorganic chemistry
- Knowledge of compound design strategies and lead optimization approaches
- Background in the field of protein conjugation is desirable
